Chinese Antique Cabinet
An expert appraiser used the word “pastiche” to describe this cabinet, which means “a mixture of elements.”
The hand carved scenes at the top of the cabinet are believed to be very old, most likely from the mid to late Ming dynasty period (16th c to 17th c)
The lacquered panels on the doors are from the mid Qing dynasty period (18th c to early 19th c).
The body of the cabinet was made during late 19th c to showcase the historical elements seen in this piece.
